| So i was looking after my dads house (well not really the house - more the dog) this weekend while he was away on holiday. I knew i couldn't miss a workout so i brought my bodylastics with me, good planning that! Anyway, i invited one of my old school mates over and we started talking fitness. I told him about the bands a few months back and he wanted to see them so i got them out and started showing him some exercises. One of the ones he liked was the squat and press with the Blue band - he only did 20 reps but was sweating and out of breath - thats how unfit he is. Desipite being unfit he is quite strong. Because of this we tried to test out out limits. We attached all the bands (Blue, Red, Green, and Yellow) to the handles and tried doing the squat and press. MY GOD! The squat was fine...try getting the bands past your shoulders, well, that was impossible. I used all my strength and it still didnt budge. My mate tried, he went onto his tip toes and the bands shot up, hit him in the arse, hit him in the back of the head and then smacked against the ceiling. Ha Ha Ha - Fell on the floor laughing!!!! Anyway, when i exercise i generally do it toppless (from years of swimming its what i am used to, although i do wear trousers) and my mate said "damn sean you chest is getting really big!" That made me smile, people are starting to notice all the hard work and dedication that i put into this. Made my weekend! Sean

lol ... wrong topic? And yeah Sean, it really feels awesome when you get a compliment, specially when your not expecting one. Like for me i keep getting my mom's compliments everytime she appears lol, those are nice but doesnt count (she could give me compliments even if i had an *ss in my forehead) but anyways, the other day i was working out and 2 cousins of mine came over. When i started warming up one of them said "Damn! How come you can do so many pushups and so fast!?" wich i really liked because i instantly remembered my week1day1 when i wasnt able to complete 10 pushups, and later on they said some stuff about thinking on starting the 16weeks because they kinda noticed that it was working for me Compliments... Gotta love 'em

| Compliments simply rock! - So far I've got a lot of compliments from you guys (Thanks!), but I've got so many compliments at work you won't believe it.. Where do I start..?!?
Our sales coach Grete said: "You look much thinner! - Are you working out? - Are you on a diet? - Which one? - I want to loose some weight, do you think you can help me out?" - And of course I'm trying to help her
My two collegues, Andreas and Flemming, both said: "I can't believe that you've lost 20 lbs in only 28 days.. You have an amazing willpower and what discipline?!" - and they both where like all hyped!
Another collegue of mine, Anna, said: "What have you done to your face?" - And I said: "What do you mean?" - She said: "You look so tiny! - Are you on some sort of diet?" - and then she also asked if I could help her out, lol..
I guess what I'm trying to say is that even small changes make an awesome impact! - Keep pushing guys, it's just like Steve said: "Moving 0,1 % forward is still moving forward!" - I couldn't agree more mate..
Thanks for all the help so far guys, I really and truly appreciate it!

| I guess I'm being the lil' dissident voice in this thread: I don't give a toss about compliments, really I don't. I work on my body for me, not for someone else. Maybe it's because I don't give a flying F about what other people think, I dunno. | |

Aint democracy a sweet thing? Nah, my point of view on the matter is that I put in too much effort and pain to care about what other people might think. Moreover, most of them think that it's an easy thing or that I take testosterone or steroids (I develope muscle quite esily), but they don't see the "didication" (wink @ sean) that goes into it. If someone says I look great, I probably react in the lines of: "Yeah I know, I got a fucking mirror at home, y'know? Why don't you get off your lazy ass and sweat a little as well instead of stating the obvious?" I'm a bitch, I know

| Nah man, i agree with you... most of your opinion anyways I react the same way.... but to 'bad' comments. Like the other day i sent my week1/week3 pictures to a friend and he was like 'fuck off... you pushed your stomach foward on week1 pics and released all the air of your lunges for week3 pics...' i was like FUCK YOU! As you said, im doing this for me!, so whats the point of 'tricking' myself ? Thats just ignorance. I dont like to brag about my stuff, but i cant wait to finish my 16weeks and walk shirtless by his house | |

| To be honest i do like it if other people notice and then take the time to compliment me. Its an increase to my male ego - which is always a good thing especially if it is a lady friend. Going off on what KinKyJ was saying - i do not take pitty on those that will not get off their fat arse and even try to change for the better. Even if it is only walking the damn dog - its better than nothing!?!?! Ok ok - so not all fat lazy people annoy me, its the ones that say i want to loose weight; then dont exercise and it around stuffing iced buns down there throat and still wonder why they put on weight! AAAAAARRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHH.....im going to stop typing now before i explode - i could rant on about this all day and night for the next year! *Calms down* Anyway, KinkyJ you might say you don't care about compliments, but i am sure you still appreciate it when members on this forum say what amazing progress you are making. Every little helps as extra motivation, and plus it is the 'feel good' factor which will then make you think 'Fuck yeah i am looking better!' Sean | |
