PostSubject: Olive oil. Not as bad as we think it is.   Sat Jan 19, 2008 8:40 am

Ok so i decided to open this topic so we can help each other on the decition to include or not Olive oil in our eating plans. Im confused myself because just to hear the word 'oil' makes me want to reject it, but i've been reading some stuff here and there and it is not that bad. It actually works to prevent a few healthy problems.

After reading this and comparing the facts to what Arnel suggests in his nutritional advice, I'm convinced that olive oil are good for you.. I know, that one might get scared off by the word "oil", but in this matter it's actually not a bad thing..

I say GO for olive oil.. I'll start implement it in my diet.. Very Happy cheers

this is quiet funny.

here in the uk on tv in the last week has been mad about health and eating on channel 4 (massive help with this program) and one of the program was by a celeb chef called jamie oliver (not sure if you know him) but anyways back to point.

In the show he mentioned upon the healthy things that clear the body (dont quote me on any of this I was very tired but got the idea) for example red wine. They then mentioned olive oil and described how it cleans colestral build up and helps the body.

The trick with any food, its good in moderation, for example downing 2 bottles of red wine a night isnt good for you however they do state a glass a night. I myself hate red wine but you get the idea.

A study in Denmark recently showed that you can extend your life with 3-5 years by drinking a glass of red wine every night.. cheers

Olive oil is very good for you, coconut oil is also great if you can get it. I like to include Olive oil in my diet, adds a nice flavour 2 salads and things. At the moment I'm probably having like 1/2 tbsp a day. U gotta have some fat in your diet (healthy fat like nuts, avocados (raw) seeds and various types of oils)

Extra virgin olive oil is the only oil we cook with here at home. It's great on salads. Add some spices and Balsamic vinegar, thinly sliced baggett for dipping and Bree -- yum! Of course that's not on my menu currently. Very Happy
