End of week 1

Well, it's the end of week 1 and over all I feel pretty darn good. I really feel stronger already. I just can't wait for the pouinds to go . I will be weighing my self Sunday morning and I'll let you guys know how it went.

I went to the sports store and bought a 100pound heavy bag as my other one was to light and flying all over the place when I punched and kicked

Today for my interval traing. I jumped rope fast then took a sledgehammer and pounded on an old tractor tire for 20 reps on the left and 20 on the right. If I still had time I would go over to the heavy bag and punch and kick out the remainder of the time.

I found a use for my old heavybag...after jumping rope I run over to it hoist it into the air over my head then let it come down on the right side then back up and down to the left side. This feels really good becasue the bag is not totally balanced so I use more muscles to stabilize it.

All in all a really good workout today!!!!

PS I think I will start giving updates here because it seems like we interact better this way!

Holy Crap!

Just finished the first day of week 2. I am sweating like a pig and barely got through it. I could only do 15 double crunches and lasted only 35 seconds on the 1 legged plank on each side. I am realizing that having this extra weight makes things so much tougher. For the pullups I must admit that I grabbed a chair but only used my legs enough to get me up. For me this seemed to work better then the resistance straps because I could keep perfect form for all 15 reps.

Onward and Upward!!!

On the weight loss front I only lost 1 pound but I guess any loss is good especially since I want to keep the muscle I have.

For supper today..An apple, yogurt and some lean turkey.....

Sup Jace,

You're doing great, man! - Keep it up!.. And maybe the pounds won't fly off you in the beginning, but if you keep working this hard, you will see the result in the end, no doubt about it..

Keep your head up and stay strong! cheers

Started burpees today. I am starting with 10 then 9 then 8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1 for a total of 55. I want to add between 2 and 5 a week. It is an awseome exercise.

Should I do them before or after my interval training?

Yes.. All resistance workout should be performed BEFORE the interval training - I guess burpees count as resistance training as you're working out with your body weight as resistance.. Smile

It looks great, Jace.. I hope things are going well for you!..

I want you to kick ass and chew bubble-gum... but I hope you're all out of gum... Very Happy - Legendary Duke Nukem quote..

You're doing what's called pyramids. I do these for warmup before martial arts training. They're so popular with the group I train with we call them fifty-fives. What we do is pick 3-5 exercise: push-ups, lumber-jacks (burpes w/ pushup), 'power-to-the-instep', lunges, alternating low-back-stances, etc. Perform them in a super set, once done run once around the studio (100-200 meters), then repeat super set adding 1 to the count of each chosen exercise. Running is resting. Twisted Evil

Still going! I am becoming addicted to burpees. The more I do the more I want to do more. I did 2 pyramids today starting at 10 I did one in the morning and 1 just now. They are really something. After the ones tonite I even grabbed 2 30lb pound dumbells and did 5 that way, but instead of the jump I lifted the dumbells over my head then repeated. Man was I puffing!

I'll post my weight tommorow morning, until then.

mmmmmmm burpees! Since you like burpees take a look at this:

https://6paforum.forumotion.com/strength-and-conditioning-f1/a-completely-criminal-exercise-program-t20.htm

Do you include a push-up with your burpees? Man they are a great exercise!

Keep on pumping!

hey, everyone, yes I am still around. Sorry for the lack of updates but I have been going through a not so fun family situation although that situation has helped to fuel some really good workouts. I really do feel stronger. My 3 nieces were over to visit and they saw me working out and challenged me to do some pushups with all 3 of them plus my daughter on my back. Their weights are 65lbs, 65lbs, 29lbs and my girl is 25 lbs. Well, once they got situated with much grunting I was able to do 8 pushups. There is no way I would have been able to do that before. I did not make my goal of a 3lb loss but I did make 2 pounds so that doubled my previous weeks efforts so I am not that upset by it.

WOAH good going man! That is one way of working out! Excellent!!!

Be patient with the weight loss, it will happen so keep on working as you are. The fact that you know you would not have been able to do those push-ups before you started means that you can definatly see a improvement in your physical ability - which is a huge bonus! Just imagine what it will be like after the whole 16? Smile

Talk about lack of dumbells... Razz

Anyways, Sean is right man. I personally believe than an increase in your physical ability (like be able to do 10more pushups than before) is a lot more important than loosing a few pounds or anything, because being able to do more reps means that you will have the energy and strength to push harder on your workouts wich will eventually get that fat out and get bigger, stronger muscles. In other words, your doing it just fine bro Smile Keep it up!
