I am wondering if anyone else is going see how many pushups they can do in a minute, How many situps they can do in a minute and how many continuous pullups. I think it would be cool to look back and see where we all started.

I think that is a good idea. I'll give that a go tomorrow before my resistance training

Great idea there Jace. I will try and give this a go tonight and post back after. Perhaps we should do this every 4 weeks to see the improvement made in our physical abilities.

What i am thinking at the moment is:

* Number of Push-ups in 1min
* Number of Sit-ups in 1min
* Number of continuous Pull-ups
* Length of time to hold the plank
*Time taken to do 100 burpees

anymore ideas, please add to the list. Cool

Although I think this is a good idea, I don't think I will do that, cos by doing so, my muscles will hurt so bad tomorrow, that I won't be able to even start the resistance training! ;-)

Might get back at you about this in a couple of weeks probably and earliest.

Also: 100 burpees would definitely give me my last... the 3 x 15 that have to be done in week 1 are a killer already! ;-) I remember hating them... let's see how it goes tomorrow!

Ha ha, yeah i agree 100 burpees will be a killer - tired it once before, got to 50 and walked off. Absolutly shattering which is why i want to complete it and get a time for it!

EDIT: I think the way i will do it is 10 sets of 10 reps; so i do 10 reps then rest 10/20 seconds and do the next 10, and so on. If i do each set in under 1min (including the rest) then it will take 10mins, hopefully i can get less than that.

If i ache tomorrow before i get to the resistance training at least i know that i am working hard! Smile

Ok guys here we go:

* Number of Push-ups in 1min = 27
* Number of Sit-ups in 1min = 29
* Number of continuous Pull-ups = 10
* Length of time to hold the plank = 2 minutes 03 seconds (OUCH!)
* Time taken to do 100 burpees = still to do

What can i say; thought i could do better on the push-ups and sit-ups - just means there is more improvement to be made. I am still to do the burpees; i might leave that for tomorrow, its suprising how hard all that was; i felt the strain straight away and can already feel the ache! Wink

I think i will do this every 2 weeks on the same day that i take the photos. That way i can see not only the physical appearance but also the physical ability.

Peace,

Sean

I have a couple questions.
I know for sure that I will max out after several pushups before the minute is complete.
So for the baseline stats, do I do as many continuous pushups as I can, or do I max out, then take a few seconds break and try for some more as long as I'm within the minute?

Another question about burpees. Do you do them with the pushup part (when you go down to the floor) or how arnel shows them in the week one video with no pushup?

Anyway, Sean that's a great plank time!

Thanks Pie - the plank really hurt! Smile

What i do is max out, rest a few seconds, max out again. On mine i did about 15 straight, then 5, then 5 then 2.

As far as burpees go this is what i do:

1) Start standing
2) hands to the floor and kick out into a push up position
3) do a push-up
4) bring you knees back into your body
5) Jump up

Thats one. Here is a link - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Tn0rXWZ-qU

Hope that helps

pushups-49
situps-39
pullups-5
Plank time-1minute 5 seconds

The plank is not as fun as it looks!

I did my baseline before I did the regular workout, boy was I whipped!

Thanks for the links, Sean.
The guy doing 100 burpees is nuts. It looks like an insane cardio workout too.
It would be pretty difficult for someone to do all the baseline stats in one day. I think the burpees should be done on a day with nothing else.

I totally agree pie, the burpees should be done on a different day - especially after you have just maxed out on push-ups, sit-ups, pull-ups, and the plank.

A friend of mine, who just happens to be a pro cage fighter, can do the 100 burpees in 5:12. Thats is insane!

I did these the end of week 2..i keep forgetting to do the sit-ups (I'm now on week 4), so I'll just have these three as my baseline (well week 2) stats.

Push-ups 31
Pull-ups 6
Plank 1 min 16 sec

Fuckaround I still havn't done my baseline. Gotta do that this weekend for sure. Hey Pie you gotta get Chi back in the game. There is just no excuses for not doing it. You can only benefit from this program, nothing more, nothing less.

Anybody can move!!
